I turned 60. With this momentous year, I decided to come out with my age on social media. Because I'm 60 and that feels very soixante.
I became a certified personal trainer. As with most playwrights, I need a little something else to round out the bill paying. For years, I had a part-time job with a consulting firm doing economics. That ended abruptly in 2015 and since I've been finding new ways. As painful as that was, it was liberating and opened so many new doors to new joys. First I started coaching writing. I love coaching. I have met so many engaged and exciting writers. I love sharing my experiences and encouraging their work. Next stop was my body. I was thinking about aging, naturally, and wanting to do it healthfully and well. I got a job at my local Y just helping folks in the fitness center. That lead to getting certified to teach group exercise - A BLAST! and then to studying to get certified to become a personal trainer. JOY! So now, i am working out more than ever, in the best shape of my life, flattest belly of life, weighing what I weighed 30 years ago and loving all. Coaching writing and coaching workouts are similar. Both require patience on my part and my client's part. In both cases, it is committing to doing the work on a daily, minute by minute basis, that brings gains in the long run.
Not sure how many readers I have here, but I promise to update more frequently. There are re-writes in the works. And new plays in the works.
